Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of living through her vibrant and expansive imagination. Before she learned to write and read Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own songs. When she was 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar. She started singing at an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The same year, she recorded her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small label. As a student in high school, she made her name local, but longed for having a bigger stage. When she graduated from high school in 1964, she moved straight to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) as well as Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female vocalist to perform on his show syndicated by him from the beginning. Parton was hired in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. Parton left the show but in 1974, because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. Parton wrote I Will Always love You for Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. The song reached the top of the charts at. For the first time, in 1974.
