She is the daughter of Harvey Welker a Native American father and Julie Welker an African-American mother. Her mother works as a real estate agent and her father works as an engineer. Walker went to her school at the Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown, where she received a diploma in 1994. She attended Harvard College, where she received a Bachelors in Arts degree. Welker was married John Hughes in Philadelphia, who was a known marketing director. The couple have two daughters. They started an relationship in the year 2014. John was her husband, and 4 years younger than her. Because their relationship was so successful, they decided to move on to the next stage.
